Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #233

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

ARCs Recieved - (un)Conventional Bookviews - Bought Borrowed and Bagged Stacking the Shelves

Ahem… Not sure how this happened – other than me being rather request-happy, and Edelweiss being very, very cooperative.

The Sunday Post #183 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

As I said in my title, spring has definitely sprung! It’s beautiful outside – every single plant is in bloom, the birds are chirping, we see the sun more regularly. And – there is fucking pollen everywhere!! And I can’t stop sneezing. I’m still happy it’s finally spring, though. So I’ll try to keep the complaining to a minimum.

  1. Oh, yes indeed there was some one-clicking going on there. LOL I might have that issue now and then. Broken Promises was one I picked up, too.

We are not quite to the pollen stage of spring, yet, but yes, there are days when the yellow dust covers everything and causes eyes and noses to water, throats to get scratchy, and sneezes galore.

    Ahhhh, cute outdoor puppy pictures.

Hopefully the allergies will leave you be next week. 🙂

    • Everything suddenly bloomed overnight, here. The cherry tree, all the bushes, the plum tree, the neighbor’s walnut tree. So there is definitely a lot of sneezing on my part.
I hope we’ll both enjoy Broken Promises, Sophia 🙂

  2. That’s always the downside with spring. I’ve been fortunate to not have allergies, but spring also means tornado weather for me in the Midwest. You’d think I’d be use to this since I’ve lived here all my life, but not. For whatever reason I get such anxiety over it too when the weather gets bad and acting up. Had storms last night too. How people find them comforting to sleep through is beyond me! It took me awhile to sleep what with the pelting rain, thunder, and lightning lighting up my bedroom window! Despite storms I do like spring because it’s usually nicer weather than summer, though we had a taste of early summer with 80 degree weather one day this week! Our AC had to come on because the house was so stuffy! Lol!

Nice new reads too! All totally new to me ones! I hope you enjoy them all!

Got up early enough to sneak a few blog visits in! 😉 My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

Hahaha someone got ARC happy 🙂 I hope you enjoy them all.

Yes, I’ve been sneezing a lot too. But I refuse to complain because spring is SO MUCH BETTER than winter lol! I just love the pictures of Hercules and Freddy – particularly how Freddy is looking to be left alone. Too funny! Someone’s not the puppy anymore 😉

    Hope you have a great week Lexxie!! Sending you tons of hugs and love! {{HUGS}}

  4. That is wonderful that all your request came through, I hope you enjoy them all. Allergies are the worst, I’m not looking forward to them. It is crazy cold and windy here in Colorado, we actually had snow last night… burr.

Freddy and Hercules are adorable. Have a wonderful week.

  5. I am so glad you got Oceanside, I did a countdown blitz for that!! I look forward to reading your reviews of the Illuminae series, as I just a signed set and am greatly looking forward to reading them!! I got to read a few ARC’s first..LOL. Have a great week-and bless you!!

  6. It is gorgeous here, too, although temps are supposed to drop back down next week. I’m definitely ready for spring. When Katie Met Cassidy looks interesting. I’m been debating about that one. Happy reading!

    • I’m glad you’re having nice weather, Natalie. Even if it’s supposed to drop back down, April is such a fickle month.

It’s funny about When Katie Met Cassidy, because I requested it a long time ago, and got declined. I went in my ‘declined’ books on Edelweiss the other day, and it just said I could download it. I’m very happy that happened, of course, but it’s still weird.

  7. Ooh glad spring has sprung in your area! Here it’s raining and cold and a winter storm warning, so clearly Mother Nature is not done with US yet lol. Love the pics as usual- Hercules hanging on the couch (looks comfy) and Freddie hiding under the table. I have a cat that does that!

    Broken Promise looks good!

  8. Isn’t it nice (and horrible) when NetGalley and/or Edelweiss are super cooperative?? I get into so much trouble with the publishers I am auto-approved by on NetGalley; sometimes I just starting clicking away and BOOM! 10 new ARCs. Happy Reading!

    • Yeah, sometimes Hercules just wants to play, play, play, and Freddy gets a little fed up with it. Now that Hercules has gotten so big, it doesn’t always help to hide up on the chair, though.
Yeah, even with the sneezing and the itching, I’m still so very happy spring has finally arrived. Plus, the pollen season doesn’t last forever 🙂

  9. Look at all those new books! I am looking forward to Good Luck With That coming out. Enjoy the nice weather, it felt like Spring here all week but we have a little bit of snow coming tonight, so I guess it was short lived. 😉 FUR-BABIES!!! Adorable!

  10. So sorry to hear that you are being so very zapped by your hay fever. I used to suffer really badly… temperatures, streaming, swollen eyes, earache, sore throat, constant running nose punctuated with nosebleeds and painful rashes on my fingers that would split and bleed… All through my teens, 20s and 30s – and now I’m a LOT older, I only have slightly itchy eyes and can go out into the garden without feeling like I’m dying. So there is hope that as you get older it will ease down! In the meantime, I hope you soon recover – I recall how miserable it was:(.

  11. Our cherry blossom trees have sprung early so with the other pollen floating around we are now getting it with the blossom trees pollen and it’s like horrible. I can’t breath and it just stinks. My poor son keeps getting nose bleeds and his eyes are itchy. I love spring but good gravy!

You got a lot of awesome books this week, I hope you enjoy them all and those PUPPIES!!! I love them! 🙂

Have a great week, Lexxie! Happy Reading! oxox Miss you! <3 <3

    There 🙂
It’s finally spring here too. I started to do a thorough cleaning in my apartment. So overdue!
I am happy to see that you loved Oceanside – I just picked the first one up because it’s a freebie!

    Have a fabulous week, Lexxie!

P.S. Your fur babies are adorable.

  13. Your puppies are adorable as always! And Spring is finally in my city too – it’s amazing and I cannot believe how much I missed the sun and needed it in my life.

You got so many new and lovely books! I only hauled two books this week but I am quite happy with them.

    Have a lovely week!

  14. You crack me up. I have not been on Edelweiss or NetGalley in ages. Now the offers that come to my inbox are another thing. I’ve been moody with my reads of late so I’ve been avoiding committing. We had signs of spring, but I am not sure those poor plants will know what to do with our current temps. Hope your week ahead is totally fantastic!

  15. Lol, I’m glad Edelweiss is being cooperative for you for I can’t even work out how to ask it to play nicely with me. 🙂
I’m so glad that Spring finally seems to have made an appearance but, like yourself, I hate pollen. Pollen is the devil and I’m already sick of my eyes being all puffy and sticky… 🙁

  16. Aw, your dogs are ADORABLE! I haven’t heard of it until now, but that cover for Love Interrupted really caught my eye. I might need to scooch over to Edelweiss soon…I’m sorry to hear that allergies are giving you hell, though. I’ve dodged their wrath so far, but winter is a long, long way off haha

Hope you have a great week, Lexxie!

  17. Too right about Edelweiss being cooperative! I’ve been approved for several things lately that I didn’t think I had a chance at. And the pollen here is awful, too. It seems like everyone is walking around sneezing and coughing. And it’s coating the cars and everything in sight. Ugh. I absolutely loved Love and Other Words. I think my review was just several paragraphs of me gushing about it. 🙂

  18. nlg i stop by to admire ur fur babies every week :’)
im ignoring ur news about EW being good bc i am drownin genough as is lol
