Posted 28 July, 2018 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Memes, Wrap-up Posts / 56 Comments

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS / BB&B - (un)Conventional bookviews

STS #241

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves at BookBonanza:

Purchased - (un)Conventional Bookviews bought borrowed and bagged stacking the shelves

So, I got quite a few new books at BookBonanza, and bonus – they’re all signed by the author(s)!!

The Sunday Post #191 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

I have pretty much been missing in action this summer – the weather has been so nice, and I’ve been traveling quite a bit. At the beginning of July, we spent eleven sunny days in Spain, then a weekend at home. Then, Mr. Lex, the two youngest kids and I went to Denver for ten days. And while there, I went to BookBonanza with my darling blogger wife Brandee. BookBonanza was a lot of fun! And it was also very well organized. I will write a full post about that next week.

Denver and Colorado was a blast! Such a beautiful state – the mountains and all the trails were gorgeous. And I got to spend a lot of time with both my own family and with Brandee and her family as well.

No blog-hopping for me either – sorry! I hope I’ll get back in the grove quickly!

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!

  1. Ooh nice! Lots of new to me reads here! Glad you’ve been having a good summer! Pretty much all month long I’ve gone nowhere for bookish purposes and it’s driving me insane! Dying to get to a signing! Lol! Luckily I have one next month, though it’s going to be quite the drive, and even though I’ve met the authors before I can’t help but want to go just to get to see some authors after a lack of signings this month! Lol!

I hope you will enjoy all these new reads you acquired!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  2. Oh how fun! Glad you and your family enjoyed Spain, Colorado, and the Book Bonanza. Really nice book pile to keep you happily reading. 🙂

  3. Wow nice haul! Yay for signed books! BookBonanza sounds amazing, and you got to spend time w/ Brandee too- how fun. I thought I hadn’t seen you on the SP in a while- nice to see you back! 🙂

The Simple Wild looks good, and so do the Poe books (love those titles).

    Have a super weekend Lexxie.

  4. What a haul. I always love to hear about the book cons but I’m never sure what to have them sign and I really prefer digital books these days. And lines of people. The authors are great but often one only gets a minute or two with them. I always feel badly if I haven’t read all the authors’ works which if it is a huge event like RT there is no way I could have. I still try to go to 1-2 a year. I’m glad you can go and have a good time. Anne – Books of My Heart

    • There was a lot of people there, but everything was really well organized. And I was able to meet both authors and bloggers I hadn’t had a chance to meet before 🙂
I discovered a new author as well, and now have read one of her books – it’s so nice to meet people and then pick up their books.
I do agree about the digital books, though – but at the same time, I just love looking at my physical bookshelves.

    • Colorado is a beautiful state! So clean, and the nature is beautiful. I hope you’ll make it there one day, Lorna. The authors who were there were all amazing, and there were some that were new to me, which is always fun, too.

  5. Wow, that’s a ton of books!!! I love the Sin with Me covers, they’re so smart.
I’ve been thinking of catching up with you for the past two weeks, but things have just been crazy xD seen your travel photos on Insta though, so I know you are doing well 🙂 I’m glad the travels have been fun! I’ll be going on a few short trips myself in August, so I hope I can tell you all more about it all when I’m back 🙂 question: what bookish places would you recommend I visit in London? I hope I haven’t already asked you and just forgotten xD

    • Oh, I would definitely visit Shakespeare’s Globe! They have a bookshop there 🙂 Of course, it’s all Shakespeare, so if you can’t stand him, that won’t work for you 😀
Apart from that, just some of the larger bookstores would work – they have SO many books, and that’s always a treat, you know?
Have fun in London and on your other travels.

    • I absolutely love signed books, too. I agree about the shipping from US, though. Which is why I know I’m so very lucky to be able to make it to signings every now and then. Where do you live? There are some signings both in Paris and London next year that I’m planning on going to – and then, I just get my books from Book Depository.
Madrid is very beautiful, the architecture is amazing!

  6. Great haul! And even better to have so many of them signed 🙂 I really love that area of the US as well, although my trips tend to focus on the far northern bits of New Mexico, without crossing in to Colorado. Where I live is fairly flat, so I love getting up into the mountains and hiking around places so different from my home. Glad to hear you’re having a fun, relaxing summer!

  7. I’m glad you enjoyed Colorado! I went to college in Denver and live about an hour south of Denver now. Your book haul is amazing. You got so many books! I hope you enjoy them all. Have a great week!

  8. Lots of great looking books. I am seeing All Your Perfects all over, I’ve got it on audio. Sounds like great times travelling.

    • Yeah, I agree! And I also love that it’s possible to purchase signed books 🙂
My daughter is currently in New Zealand, but is going to Australia next weekend. Then, she’ll spend two weeks traveling from Brisbane to Sydney before she comes back home after seven weeks of solo travels 🙂

  9. I think I’m going to add a bookish convention to next years goal list. I’ve never been to one. 🙁
Glad to hear you’re having a good summer. Sometimes switching off from the virtual world is just needed.

    • Oh my goodness, Nicci! You so should 🙂 Book conventions are the best – so much fun. I love meeting both other readers / bloggers and all the authors I enjoy.
Switching off is definitely necessary every now and then 🙂

  10. What a great summer! I have also been MIA a lot this summer, too, even after coming back from my hiatus. I feel so awful about not getting around…and then I see 1800 blog emails and I’m like, “Oh, I need to go do XYZ…” Classic avoidance, I guess.
