2015 Audiobook Challenge – 1Q Update

The 2015 Audiobook Challenge is hosted by Loupe @ Hot Listens and Jennifer @ The Book Nympho, and I’m very happy to be participating this year, even if I’m behind on my goal. Hopefully, I’ll make up for it before too much time passes. I have added several more audiobooks to my library, so all I need to do now is to sit down (or walk around – which is an added bonus!) and listen to some of them. I am currently listening to Stacia Kane’s Unholy Magic, I’ve already read the story, and loved it, and the narrator is simply amazing.

Since I’m new to audiobooks, I am going with a quite low level, Stenographer which is for 10-50 books, but apparently it wasn’t low enough so far. My goal is to listen to 12 audiobooks this year, and you can check out my auidobook challenge postย for more information.

As I said, I’m behind, I have only listened to one audiobook so far, and that’s Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover, and I actually enjoyed the audio a little less than reading it, but that’s because of my personal preferences and feeling a little weird listening to sex-scenes ๐Ÿ˜‰

Are you participating? Are you doing better than I am? Have a fantastic Friday and a great weekend.

  1. Hi Lexxie, I listened to Ugly Love last year, and remember enjoying it. As I didn’t read it first, though I’m not sure how it compares to the e-book. I have recently, however, started reading and listening in tandem (I did this with Hero by Samantha Young); and find that it gives me a whole new perspective when you have narrators voices to fit the sory into. Coho is one amazing writer!

Good luck in Quarter 2 of the Audiobook Challenge!

    • That sounds like a good idea, BJ, reading and listening at the same time… I think one of the reasons why I haven’t listened to many books lately is because I have been lazy when it comes to sports… I have and elliptical and a stationary bike, and love to listen to an audio while working out. Only, I haven’t been working out ๐Ÿ˜‰
      Thanks for stopping by!

    • I’m glad you’ve been doing well with this challenge, Stormi ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve been reading a lot, but not listening enough ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Last year, I listened to 48 audiobooks, this year I’m aiming for 50+ audiobooks…. But I’m having a listening slump so far this year and have only managed to listen to 4 audiobooks. So, I’d better step up the pace next quarter if I want to finish 50+ audiobooks!!

    Happy listening!!

    • I think it’s nice to have both e-books and audiobooks to change things up every now and then ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you’ll be able to catch up, Lisa.

  3. Iยดve never heard a single audiobook. I donยดt know why, but Iยดve always thought that holding a book between my hands will always be the best feeling. Iยดm a bit curious, though, so maybe I will try listening to an audiobook sometime soon. Good luck on your challenge ๐Ÿ™‚

    • You should pick your first audio based on your favorite author, Anette, and then listen to the sample to see if you think you could enjoy listening to a whole book by the narrator ๐Ÿ™‚ One of my first audiobooks put me straight to sleep…

    • Usually, I’m working out when I listen to an audiobook – that way, I still get my story, and I also get some exercise… sadly, It’s been a while since I worked out.

  4. I’m sure you’ll do fine with the challenge, Lexxie, even if you’ve only listened to 1 so far. I challenged myself to read 1 a quarter and I haven’t accomplished that! *ha* And as I’m listening to a Maya Banks book, I’m a little worried about the listening to sex scenes now. Oh well!

I hope your week is going well. I take my MIL to this airport around noon today and hope to be able to chat this afternoon. Happy Tuesday! **BIG HUGS**

    • Ha, you certainly know how to make me feel better, Brandee! I love listening to the Downside Ghosts series, because the narrator is made of amazing. And I’m sorry if I got you worried about listening to sex scenes… maybe you’ll not be as embarrassed as I have been. I have to admit that when I first started reading romance and erotica, reading about the sex made me embarrassed, too.
