Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #84
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
Today, I’m sharing a Thirsty Thursday quote from Magic Binds, which I just started reading. Within the first couple of chapters, there are several quotes to choose from already, which is awesome. Almost as awesome as Curran and Kate 🙂
My Thirsty Thursday quote:
“No altar?” Curran asked. “No bloody knives and frightened virgins?”
“No sacrificial pit ringed with skulls?” I asked.
“Ha. Ha.” Roman rolled his eyes. “Never heard that one before. I keep the virgins chained up in the basement. Do you want some coffee?”
I shook my head.
“Yes,” Curran said.
“Black?”
“No, put cream in it.”
“Good man. Only two kinds of people drink their coffee black: cops and serial killers. Sit, sit.”
Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.
Ha I like their banter there! Sounds like a good one… 🙂
I’ve only just started, Greg, but this is one of my favorite UF series.
Now you have my attention. Love it! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Laurel-Rain. I have more from this one for next week 🙂
Haha! Love that quote.
🙂 it’s definitely a good one

Love it! Roman is so sarcastic, and I’m glad he played a big role in this installment.
I love the sarcasm, too. It always makes me laugh 🙂

Ha! I feel like I’ve heard that one before (about the coffee). Great banter. This is a series I’ve always meant to get back to. But time and all keeps me from it.
It might not be a new thing, but it just fit so very well with this scene, Berls!
Hmm, I drink my coffee black and I’m not a cop so…. Actually, I love my coffee with cream – specifically pumpkin flavored in the fall – but that cream always finds its way to my hips. 😉 Thanks for sharing a giggle courtesy of Curran (and Kate) this morning, wifey! <3 *BIG HUGS* <3
I put milk in my coffee, not cream, but I can’t drink it black. And I feel better with milk rather than sugar… Your hips are just fine, though, wife! I’m glad my Curran and Kate quote made your morning giggly! {{{hugs}}}

Squee…i love coffee and Kate Daniels. I am waiting for my copy of the audiobook and cannot wait!!
This was from the first chapter, I think… And I found three food quotes in the first two chapters 🙂 That plus Kate and Curran has put me in an amazing mood, coffee and all 😉
Haha! I’ll definitely do this next week. I’m reading Viking Warrior Rebel and there are already some food quotes 🙂 ~Aleen
We’d be happy to have you, Aleen! I love to eat and drink, so I always notice when the characters I read about have something yummy (or not) to eat or drink, too.
Haha! That last sentence made me laugh and snort out loud. I may have scared my bunny now. lol
Uh oh, Stephanie! It wasn’t my intention to scare your bunny 🙂 Even if that made me snort as well!
Hah, I love it! Humor is great. 🙂

I’m so excited for this book. I plan to wait on the audio though. I just can’t image reading it anymore without Renee Raudman. I love that quote.
I just love Curran! I’m not a coffee drinker but he sure makes it appealing to the senses.
