Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #130
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week, my Thirsty Thursday quote is from Mile High by RK Lilley. This story is the second in the Up in the Air trilogy, and happens during a spa day James had organised for Bianca and her friends.
It was an intimidating request. I would rather have just had a menu. “Tea, please.” She named off ten different teas that the spa boasted. “I’ll take the youthberry oolong infused with lemongrass. Plain, thank you,” I told her. She seemed relieved, as though she’d been worried I would request something more complicated. She brought a tea service tray to the table in front of me, and prepared my tea as though it were a ritual. I thought it was charming. I told her so. She looked up, beaming at me. “I trained in Japan when I was little. You should see my mother. Her tea service puts mine to shame.”
She finally poured the impressively prepared cup of tea, then left briefly, returning with trays of food. There was fruit, vegetables, tiny sandwiches, hors d’oeuvres, and cheese and crackers. She brought tray after tray, and I took little samples from each. All of my friends were getting the same treatment in comfortable seats around the stone lined room. It was almost like being inside of a luxurious cave, I mused.
Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts quote. Have a terrific Thursday and don’t forget to link up.

The whole description of the tea has made me crave it so much. I’m a big tea addict. Haha 😀
I’ve been thinking about this series since I read your review. Great quote. Spa in a cave? ❤️❤️❤️
Oh this looks good. I think I want tea now. 🙂 Jennifer Estep’s books always make me hungry and thirsty.
