Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #172
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:
Thank you so much, Carina Press! (Once more, my e-mail runeth over 🙂 )
The Sunday Post #122 – Weekend Wrap-up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
I’ve had another very busy week, and I’m already starting to look forward to our winter break which starts in two weeks… Yesterday (Friday) was Freddy’s first birthday, and so he got some goodies for his meals, and he had a great day, I think.
My youngest son was away all week for camp with his school, they were in Zermatt (Swiss Alps, where the Matterhorn is) skiing, and he had such a great time. The weather was gorgeous, and since he was in the group with the best skiers, he was able to ski on all the slopes, even the one that’s the highest up.
And I launched my new feature Safe & Sexy, where I share a bookish quote where the characters make sure they have a condom when they have sex 😉

Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle @ Because Reading is Better than Real Life have launched a new challenge where readers should read all the books by one author! Sounds good? you can check it out on each of their blogs.
Brandee @ Bookworm Brandee has a Dilemma…
Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Happy birthday Freddy!! And ooh skiing in the Alps… that just seems like that would be the best place to ski if you ask me lol. Glad you had a nice week!
Yay for the new feature! Safe is good. 🙂
LOL Greg 🙂 it is definitely great to ski in the Alps, and I think school kids are pretty lucky here to be able to go away for a whole week of skiing with their school 🙂
I can’t believe that Freddy is already having a birthday! You picked up quite a few romances this week. I will be looking forward to your reviews. I also grabbed the Charley Davidson books when they went on sale. It sounds like your son had a great time at camp. Enjoy your week!
I know, time really does fly!! Freddy is probably as big as he’s going to get, but he’s still kind of acting like a puppy in many ways 🙂
Have a great weekend, Carole 🙂
Happy birthday Freddy! I’m loving the birthday photos! I’d so love to see the Swiss Alps as I love mountains and The Matterhorn is beautiful from the photos I’ve seen. I’ve never actually been on mainland Europe and I think my travelling days are over sadly! Hope you all have a great week!
Thank you, Chuckles 🙂 He had a great day yesterday, and today, too 🙂 He’s the best dog ever!
The Matterhorn is beautiful, and the pictures my son took were great, because he got some from quite high up, and others from the village and the sky was so very blue.
Too bad your travelling days are over! I’d show you around in Geneva, and get you on the right train to go see the Matterhorn for yourself 🙂

Happy Birthday Freddy! it is boiling hot here Down Under. blow some wintry wind will ya?
Thank you, Ailyn. I have blown wintry winds your way today – did you feel it?
Twitter: ailynk
Thank you Lexxie, unfortunately your winter snow has turned to rain here. but It has dropped from 38C to a nice 27C. so it did arrive
Lots of good books!!! Happy birthday Freddy!! Sounds like your son had an awesome camp. Hope you have a great week!
Yeah, it was a great week all around, Grace 🙂

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! FREDDY!!! Give him birthday hugs for me! I am sure he had an amazing day!
Swiss Alps…WOW, I can’t ski but you love to go see that. It sounds so amazing.
Awesome book grabbing, those are some NICE covers 🙂
Thanks for sharing the challenge!! <3
Have a great week, Lexxie! Miss you lots! ox
He loved his b-day hugs, Michelle 🙂 And he had a great day 🙂 Miss you lots, too!!
OOh nice new reads! Lots of new to me ones! Except for the Charley books! I am so behind in that series and really need to get caught up soon! And wow!! Freddy’s 1 already?! Time sure does fly!
Hope you have a great week ahead!
My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I’m behind when it comes to Charley, too. But I just love the humor in that series, so now I will be able to catch up. Hopefully 😉
I know, time does fly! Freddy being one year just feels surreal to me!
Oh lots of goodies this week for you. I hope you love all of your new books. Freddie is a very active dog.
Grace @ Books of Love
Thanks, Grace 🙂 I have trouble catching Freddy when he’s actually being active – -he moves so fast he becomes a blur. And when I film him, I always manage to get some weird noises on there 😀
I got Single Malt too! I’ve heard that it ends on a big of a cliffhanger so heads up! lol! I haven’t gotten to read it yet tho. Hope you enjoy all of your new books!
Uh oh… thanks for the warning, Julie. I do better with cliffhangers if I kind of know they’re there 🙂
Glad you are keeping busy enough at work to look forward to your holiday. 🙂 Cool that your son could have fun skiing.
Oh, very nice book haul. I saw that Charley Davidson series sale, too.
Freddie looks like he’s posing in the first one.
Freddy is good at posing – but I’m not always all that good at taking the picture 😀
I wish we could get a re-do of our winter break. I squandered it! lol Happy birthday to Freddie!
We had two weeks off for Christmas, and we also get a week off in the middle of February. I’m definitely ready for that week, Charlie 🙂
Wow, already a year for Freddy! Happy birthday to him.
I love the idea of your Safe & Sexy feature.
Enjoy your new books, which all look very tempting. Happy reading!
Thanks, Laurel-Rain 🙂 I hope you’ll stop by the Safe & Sexy feature every now and then 😉
Twitter: bmreviewsohmy
Great haul, you would know they would have a sale on Charley Davidson books when I have no extra money…boo….lol. Oh well. Enjoy your reads!
Stormi
Oh that’s really too bad, Stormi! I hope they’ll go back on sale when you can afford to get them!
Oooh Heat Wave by Karina Halle. I’m super curious about that book! Happy birthday, Freddy! And that second picture of him is so cute. Totally reminds me how my dog sleeps when she’s really relaxed. ^_^
I can’t wait to listen to Heat Wave, Stephanie 🙂 Halle’s books are usually really good.
Freddy always finds himself in that position on his back – total abandon 🙂
OMG! Your Safe & Sexy feature is so interesting! I don’t think I’ve come across a romance novel in which the pair didn’t use a condom (with the exception being in cases in which they were intentionally trying to get pregnant, or the woman was on birth control and there was consent as to not to use a condom). But I know I read sexy but possibly tamer romance novels, so I know there are plenty out there with couples that don’t use condoms (and never address that). Wrap it before you tap it!
I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Lexxie! Especially the Carina Press ones – love that publisher. <3
Have a fabulous week. =)
Check out my STS post!
I’ve actually come across romance novels where the couple ‘forgot’ about the condom in the heat of the moment… and I just have trouble understanding how that’s even possible! At least if it’s the first time they meet and just get to it, you know?
I think having the condom included in the scene, and making it sexy is awesome, though – it brings a realistic light to it all.
I love Carina Press, too – and I thank my lucky stars that they have my e-mail address and keep using it 😀
I hope the next couple of weeks pass quickly so you can have a break Lexxie.
Happy belated birthday to Freddy! Perhaps you could give him an extra pat for me!
And so many ARCs!!!
Me, too, Deb! It was tough the first week to work, as I had so few hours before Christmas, and then *boom* I was working full time 🙂
I’ll give Freddy an extra pat for you 🙂
Yay for all the books, Lexxie! I hope they all live up to expectations and you have a great time reading them. Also happy belated birthday to your super cute pup there. 😀
I hope I’ll have a great time reading them, too, Cait 🙂

I’m soooo looking forward to winter break too! Glad to hear our son had such a good time skiing! Now off to check those Darynda Jones’ books on sale. Love her books! Thanks for sharing Lex!
I hope they’re still on sale, Daniela!
Happy Birthday Freddy!!
Thanks, Ashley 🙂
I just got an audible by Eve Langlais. It’s Becoming Dragon and looking forward to it. Happy Birthday to Freddy. I always smile when I see him! Safe & Sexy sounds too fun. Going to check it out now!
I hope you’ll enjoy it, Laura. I absolutely love Eve Langlais, her books always make me laugh 🙂
One year already? Wow!! Happy Birthday Freddy!
Looks like you’ve got some great new reads again. Awesome!
Zermatt? Ow wow.. It’s so pretty there! And how lucky that the weather was so good. I follow the instagram account of Zermatt and saw some great pic’s.
Have a great week Lexxie!
I know, right? Time flies even more when we suddenly reach milestones like that.
Zermatt is a beautiful town, and I’m so happy for my son that he had the opportunity to ski there for a week 🙂
Sounds like a great week! And you got some lovely new additions to your shelves. Hope you’ll enjoy them all! 🙂
I’ve actually never been to Zermatt :0 I should probably start travelling in my own country a little more 😛 We used to go to Grimentz in the Valais to Ski (because I’m actually from Sierre), but it’s been a long time since I’ve stood on the slopes.. :/
Wish you a lovely week! 🙂
Yasmine @ Swissbookworm
My Stacking the Shelves
Thanks, Yasmine, I hope so, too!
Isn’t it funny how we travel less in our our country than abroad? I have been to quite a few places in Switzerland, because when I first got here, I was only supposed to stay for a year. I haven’t seen all that much of Norway, though *sighs* one day I’ll remedy that.
Have a lovely week yourself!

I’m glad to hear your son had wonderful time on his trip and that he’s so good at skiing.
Ohh, Freddie is a birthday boy then! He’s so cute!
I hope you’ll enjoy all the arcs you received! 🙂
He had such a great time, and I’m happy for him (and all his classmates) that they had a week with sun and good snow.
Oh yes – what a wonderful opportunity to be able to get away and ski in the Alps for a school trip:). Freddy looks suitably delighted he’s celebrating his first (or is it 7th?) birthday. I very much approve of your latest Safe and Sexy launch. Authors need to be nudged that their protagonists should consider these things! Have a great week, Lexxie:).
They had a wonderful time 🙂
Freddy was happy celebrating his 1st/7th b-day 🙂 Have a great week yourself!
Happy birthday Freddy! Congrats on your new feature! Sounds awesome! I love bloggers who find something they are passionate about promoting. Best of luck!
Thanks, Samantha 🙂
I’m actually jealous of the skiing! I’m originally from Switzerland and moved to the UK a few years ago and miss the mountains! Also: gorgeous dogs!
You should come back for a winter holiday, Olivia!!
Twitter: Mlsimmons
Happy Birthday Freddy! Glad to hear your son had a great time skiing. We’ve had almost no snow here in Ohio. We do have a “hill” we can ski on, but the snow is entirely manmade at this point. We usually have at least some natural snow, but not much the past few years.
We don’t have any snow down here in Geneva, but in the mountains there is a lot of it 🙂 Too bad you only have manmade snow…
Lots of good books! The Scott Hildreth book looks really good as does Necessary Medicine. Thanks for sharing! You can find my post for StS here if you’d like to stop by!
Aw! Have a Happy Birthday Freddie! 🙂
My review pile is bloated as well and I’m hoping I can read them all before their deadlines. LOL
Hope you have a great week! ~Aleen
How cool is it that your son goes to camp and it’s skiing in the Alps! Lol. We don’t have such things around here. 🙂 And you got some audio ARCs this week too. That’s awesome.
Twitter: kimbacaffeinate
Skiing sounds lovely, I will be sipping hot chocolate in the lodge! LOL Have a great week and enjoy all those newly acquired books!
Happy Birthday to Freddy! And I need to check out your Safe and Sex meme!
Twitter: Kissinbluekaren
Yay for the upcoming vaca! I know you must be excited, you are so busy and really deserve a break! Freddy gets cuter every time I see him. My Yorkshire Terrier, Buster, sleeps like that all the time, it is hilarious. I hope you enjoy all your new books and have a great week!
Happy birthday to Freddy! Time has flown so fast and I hope he had a great birthday. I bought some books from the Charley Davidson series too (it was a great sale). I hope you enjoy all your new books and have a great week!
Weenie dog!! I love him so much! I love the pictures you post every week! XD I hope you enjoy all your new reads!
Great haul. Most of your books or authors I don´ t know, but that can change *smile*. Happy reading and Happy Birthday to Freddy – his pictures are so cute.
Best wishes
Vi @ Gone With The Books
Happy Birthday to Freddy! And yay for an upcoming break. Those are always nice. 🙂
-Lauren
Oh some good looking reads. I need to try Langlais on audio. I bet those are a hoot.
Have fun with the new feature. I remember talking about that and what a great idea it would be. I do them now and again in the quote-tastic quotes.
Darling, you procured very many fine looking books last week. I’m a bit green – especially over those Darynda Jones books. 😉 I can’t believe Freddy is already ONE! It doesn’t seem that long ago when you told me you were going to be getting a puppy. Time flies, doesn’t it? I’m sure he had a grand day of celebrating. And I’m so happy #3 had a great time skiing.
I hope your weekend was lovely!! Love & {{{HUGS}}}

Happy birthday Freddy! He’s such a cute little guy ?
You have a ton of incoming books this week! I hope you enjoy them and with a break coming up I hope that means some extra reading time.
Have a great week!

Out of all the books you got, I’ve only heard of Heat Wave. I hope it’s good 🙂
Aww Happy Birthday, Freddy!!
