Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

The Sunday Post #195 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

This week was spent mostly in my own company, and, of course, Hercules and Freddy. It was so nice! I didn’t get a lot of things done, apart from reading and watching Hawaii 5-0, but that was just kind of perfect, and what I needed.

I did go to IKEA on Thursday to get a tall, narrow BILLY book case as my reading nook was very full. And now, it looks like this :

Shelves - Weekend Wrap-up - (un)Conventional Bookviews

I have a few shelves still free for books, thankfully. And most of the books on the two larger book cases are signed, from different conventions I’ve been to. I need to stop buying books for a while now, though, especially as I’m going to BookExpo in May.

This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Out for a walk with Freddy and Hercules in the sun. (That means I didn’t stay in my pajamas that day)
Not sure what they were eating – not something they were supposed to, for sure!

  1. Oh wow Ignite the Stars looks nice. Actually so does the Heart forger- amazing cover! But then I liked the previous one too. And I love your shelves- very nice! Looks like a pretty good reading area. 🙂

    Have a great weekend!!

  2. There are so many fabulous looking books here, Lexxie! I’m pleased that you’be got your hands on Simon Vs… One of my favourite books for sure. Have a fab weekend!

  3. Great haul this week; Ignite the Stars looks interesting. I love your reading nook, looks very cozy 🙂

Your puppies always make me smile. Hope you have a great weekend!

  4. aww thoses wieners !! the all black ones are so gorgeous to me, I rarely see any ! Usually there’s the same amount of tan as mines does – minus the dapples patches, of course. and oh goodness the good looking shelves !!!! I so want the same x) However, my room is too small for something like that ..

eeeeek !!! Thank you soo much for including my post in your wrap up <3

  5. Glad your quiet week went well and you had a good time with the puppies and getting the new piece to better organize your book area.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Lexxie!

I got A Thousand Perfect Notes too! I’m hoping I love it, I’d feel guilty leaving a bad review of a fellow blogger’s book. I use to have my billy bookcases in the same order as yours but I had to leave them behind when we moved. 🙁

    • I used to have my books in different places, too. And in a way, I still do. These shelves are my books for pleasure. And I have a shelf in my office, too, where I have books I will use more often for my teaching. And there is some overlap 🙂

  7. I love your book nook! I can’t wait for Love, Simon (although I wish they would have kept the book title). I recently reread Simon V. and think I liked it more on my second look. Happy reading!

  8. I am so jealous of your bookshelves and all the signed books, of course. They really look great! And of course I always love you dog pictures. Time to yourself is important occasionally. Hope you have a great week coming up!

  9. Hi Lexxie, your arcs look beautiful and they all match in colour. I’ve been wanting to read a Kristen Ashley book. Maybe this 1001 dark nights novella would be a good place to start.
Your shelves are stacking up nicely. It’s nice to get some alone time once in awhile. Have a great week!

Hercules is growing up to be a handsome dog! good thing you still have some space then. Maybe auction some of it off hehehe. I know you won’t but just a lousy suggestion

  11. I’m glad you had a really relaxing week – though it wasn’t quite as relaxing as all that, given that you had all those books to rehome in your fabulous new shelving unit! I hope the coming week isn’t too full-on once you get back to school, Lexxie:)

  12. So jealous of your quiet time. 🙂 I am planning to visit you when you are at BEA. I am thinking I wont be able to go to the event but will come to the city to visit you. Possibly on the Saturday for Lunch! 🙂

I LOVE Hawaii Five-O. Very nice to look at…I mean watch the show is nice to watch. 😉

Hercules name suits him since he is so much bigger than Freddy. They are just so cute!

Have a great week my wonderful friend! I really do miss you a whole bunch! Happy Reading! ox

  13. Your week sounds heavenly, quiet and just doing some reading and watching Hawaii 5-O. I need a bookcase, it’s actually the only that has stopped me from buying books at the moment. I’m totally out of room…it’s fine I just turn to something else and buy that instead haha.

Hope you have another great week 🙂

  14. There they are again, the cute pups! 🙂

So I’ve been eyeing Simon vs the Homosapien Agenda – really curious what you’ll think. I really want to get that one.

I loved Rough Rider and Brooklynaire and also bought Amy Harmon.

I hope you enjoy your ARCs!

This week has been crazy busy so I didn’t even get around setting up a week wrap up post 🙁 Sounds like your week was a lot more quiet!

  15. I love the looks of your new books Lexxie. And your shelves look amazing. I think it’s so cool that you have so many signed books.
Freddy and Hercules just look so cute.
Have a great week and happy reading!

    • Thanks Maureen 🙂
It was when I went to my first convention and got some signed books that I started my physical bookshelves. Before that, I had mostly kindle books. Now, though, I’m really happy with the look of those shelves, it’s so cozy, and so me.

  16. I’m currently reading The Lucky One and it is pretty good. There’s tension from the mystery and sexy times!

I love the way your bookshelves turned out! Looks very nice!

Your dogs are cute, and look like the perfect companions. Enjoy your week and happy reading! 🙂

  17. Oh so many great books Lexxie! I’ve been trying to cut down on a lot of my own books too, I actually sorted through quite a lot over the weekend, and its nice when you can finally see all your books on your shelves. Your shelves are gorgeous by the way! I hope you have a great week! 🙂

  18. I also got Ignite the Stars and it sounds like it’s going to be a good one. I need to get some shelves but I haven’t decided where in my house I want them. Your puppies are so cute, I posted pics on my babies this week, too. I hope you have a great week.

  19. I’m happy you enjoyed a quiet week of reading and tv watching, wifey. I’m sorry I missed out on chatting with you though. My week was so far from easy or quiet. Ugh! Hopefully this week will be a bit calmer. For me. I’m not sure your week could be more calm. LOL Looks like you had a good reading/book haul week as well. We’ll have to schedule a time to buddy read The Smallest Part. Actually, we need to schedule quite a few buddy reads…
    Alright, have a great week!! Miss you and love you!!! {{{BIG HUGS}}}

  20. I LOVE your reading nook! That’s kind of what I want mine to look like…one day. LOL
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed your break. And go you for getting out of pajamas at least one day! During our Christmas break, I think the only day I did that was when I went to visit family….the more I stay home, the more homeless I tend to look.

  21. Your reading nook is awesome! We just set up a wall of bookshelves but it full already so I think it is nice that you still have some room on yours. I see you grabbed the new Sarina Bowen novel. I just read one of her books for the first time last week and LOVED it. Have a great week!

    • Yeah, but I think I’ll fill it up fairly quickly 🙂 It’s what it’s for though, right?
I’m glad you enjoyed your first Sarina Bowen book! I think I’ve read most of her back list since last summer, and I am in love with both her writing and her characters!

  22. Yay for getting Simon Vs. Can’t wait to see your review! Aw, your dogs are too cute. Sounds like you had a really nice, relaxing week. I got quite a bit of reading finished so I’m happy about that. 🙂

  23. Is it possible to stop buying books? Not sure I could do it. LOL. I am enjoying the Chicago Rebel series (on the second book) and wondered who the next story would feature. Now I know! Yay. Have a great week.

  24. I’ve never head for Sarina Bowen before and now I’m seeing Brooklyaire EVERYWHERE! I have to check out that series STAT – everyone is raving about that book! Glad you got to enjoy some quiet time with the pups! 🙂 Happy reading and hope you enjoy your expanded book nook!

  25. Cait’s cover is so beautiful! I think it’s great you got an ARC! 🙂
I love IKEA so much. I go often to the one here in Massachusetts. Your reading nook is beautiful Lex! BookExpo!. Yay!
