Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

The Sunday Post #171 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

(un)ConventionalBookViews_Banner-WhatHappenOfftheBlog

This was another very busy week, as grades had to be entered into our system because it’s the end of the semester. This also meant I had to finish grading some more tests, and I have a blister on my right hand 😀

I did find some time to relax and read, too, thankfully. And my sinus infection is gone, so that’s another big win!

This Week’s Puppies in Action:

Freddy climbed on top of the crate to get into the travel crate... I think he did it to get some peace and quiet from Hercules... It didn't work exactly as he planned, though :)

  1. Woohoo on the great haul. Close to the Edge and Tilted Earth look good. Oh yes, Iron Gold!!! Success getting the first Iron Druid. 🙂 That is funny about the kids misplacing your mail- I know how that feels. LOL
Ouch for the blister, but glad your infection is gone.
Hercules looks like he wants up with Freddy. 🙂

    Have a good weekend, Lexxie!

  2. I always love to look at your book hauls Lexxie. Even if it makes me want to read more books. It’s dangerous for my TBR! Hehe. Enjoy these new books and have a fabulous weekend!

  3. Iron Gold!!! I would also wonder if I should read that or keep it for a while, if I had it 🙂 I wonder if it will deliver? Sure hope so, of course.

And thank you for sharing my post! And wow, I didn’t know about those two great posts. It seems between me and Marie, we covered the blog hopping pretty well this week 😀 I’ll have to read and share those too, I think.

  4. Yay for no more sinus infection! I hope your busy week leaves you some time to relax as well. My mum is head of the primary school so I know how it can be when its time get grading or reports in… and it looks like you got many new books this week, so someone will have a lot reading to do. Enjoy it 😀

    • I know! Sinus infections are the devil 🙂
I got so many books. And that makes me so very happy.
The grading part is the least fun part of teaching – I mean, calculating the average of the different kinds of tests and all… But it does have to be done.
Thanks for stopping by, Olivia 🙂

  5. Glad your sinus infection is gone! You got a lot of great books!! Enjoy! I know what you mean about waiting on an anticipated read. I read one of mine and loved it and I have to wait a whole year for the next one. 🙁 🙂

Have a great week and happy reading!

  6. OOh nice new reads!! Pretty much all new to me ones though I am familiar with Brown’s books! I hope you enjoy all the lovely new reads!

The puppies are too cute! Glad you’re feeling better too! That’s always a relief!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  7. Oooh, Iron Gold! I really need to read Morning Star now that the sequel is out. I was afraid to read it due to it being the last in the trilogy.
I hope you feel better, a sinus infection is no joke when it is cold outside. It sounds like grading sucks as much as test taking. I hope you enjoy all your new books and have a great week!

    • I’m the same way, Karen. I have some books that are the last in the series – released ages ago – that I haven’t read yet because I don’t want it to be over 😀
I do feel much better, and I am definitely happy about that. I hope you’ll feel better soon, too.

  8. Really hope you enjoy all the books you listed! I’ll have to try Man Hands at some point FOR SURE! 😉 Have a wonderful weekend, Lexxie 😀

  9. Eve

I hope you love all the goodies. I am hoping to at least start the Red Rising series this year it’s past time!!!

  10. Wow, so many lovely books! I’m curious about The Heart Between Us.

So sorry about the blister from grading papers!

Puppies are adorable, as usual. Enjoy the week…and thanks for visiting my blog.

  11. I’m very much interested in The Heart Between Us, I’ll have to give it a go as it’s the kind of read I’m in the mood for right now. Sarina Bowen has been highly praised (and I have a feeling you know by who… ;P), so that’s on my list as well!

  12. The pups are so gorgeous in that photo! Iron Druid is one of the mamy series I’d like to get on audiobook. I’d like to get all my favourite series IF the narrators are good! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  13. Iron Druid looks fun! I keep having people tell me to read that series, so I may need to break down and do that soon! Rare Species and The Heart between Us looks pretty good too.

Hope you’re staying warm there. 🙂

  14. Great haul this week! Most of these are new to me. I can’t wait to read Iron Gold! It seems like I have been waiting forever for that one. I hope to start the audiobooks for the Iron Druid series very soon. The puppies are still looking good. Glad you are feeling better. Have a great week!

  15. Your books look beautiful and AT LAST, you found them! I hope you enjoy Hammered as well. I remember I really liked the narrator, Luke Daniels as well as Iron Gold. I’ve been listening to Red Rising but the audiobook is messed up. The Iron Druid Chronicles is a series that I liked but that I don’t remember much about. It should be my next Top 10 Tuesday lol

    • LOL I know, right? Good thing I was looking for Hercules’ passport for the vet 😀
Luke Daniels is really good – I preferred his narration to the other edition, so I was very happy I found a workaround, jackie.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  16. Aaah so many new books. Happy reading! Iron Gold is on my wishlist as well. I hope that I will be able to get it very soon too. And your dogs – so cute! Thanks for sharing. Glad you are well again.

    Best wishes
    Vi

  17. Ooh, go many books on board for you at the moment– great haul! I read the first two in the Pierce Brown series awhile ago and look forward to continuing with book 3 so I can get to Iron Gold.

And the Kevin Hearne series, I can’t say why I haven’t gotten to it yet. So many good reviews and sounds right up my alley. Have a great week ahead.

  18. I’m so glad that you got your hands on Iron Druid with Luke Daniels. It will be worth the effort, I promise. It is a favorite series. I know it will be one of yours too. I hope you have a great week and that the blister heals. 🙂

    • Me, too, Melanie! I listened to both of the narrators and just found Luke’s voice to work better for me. But I could only get books 4-7 with him as the narrator 🙁 I’m pretty sure I’ll love it, and I’m very happy to have it ready to listen to! It’s going to be fun driving to work next week 😉

  19. I see the Red Rising series EVERYWHERE I need to pick it up. A whole load of other books to add to my tbr GREAT it’s not like I already have too many (SEND HELP)!! I’m actually super busy with end of semester tests too so I feel you pain! My heart says books but my brain says STUDY. And omgggg your puppies are so cuteee <3!

  20. Glad to hear you are feeling better! I have been wanting to read Where Sea Meets Sky. I have had a lot of luck with Halle. I am a fan of the More Than books. McLean is one of my go-tos when I want something a little angsty.

  21. I am seeing everyone excited about the Iron Gold release and I haven’t even read the Red Rising series at all, haha. I hope you will enjoy it 😀
Glad to hear you are feeling better and that you still had some time to relax despite all of these grades! 🙂 I hope you’ll have a lovely week xx

  22. I get how you feel about Iron Gold. I was dying for it, and now don’t want to read it as I don’t want to finish it. Crazy, I know. I think I’m going to read Red Rising again. I’ve been wanting to start the series over and this gives me an excuse. LOL!

  23. What a haul! I am going to have to catch up with grades next week since I was basically out all week. It can get boggling grading!

  24. That Pierce Brown series has been calling my name since book 1. I’m thinking it’s time I actually start it. Sounds like it’s been a crazy week! Your poor hand. I hope the blister is better soon. Love the pic of the pups. So much cuteness! Have a great week!

    • Oh my, I’m almost a bit jealous you can discover the whole Red Rising world from the beginning, Katherine!
The blister is OK, it made me laugh when it appeared, though.
My puppies are the best – and they always do so many weird things!

  25. Love the Iron Druid Chronicle and can’t wait to read the next one coming soon. Luke Daniels’ performance is amazing! I listen to audio books while working out, too. Makes the time go by so quickly. Enjoy your books! 🙂

  26. I’m glad to hear your sinus infection has gone – it’s so miserable! And hope you do get a bit more time to yourself once the grading is done – I love the look of Rare Species and am very jealous you have a copy of Iron Gold as I LOVE this series. Have a great week, Lexxie.

    • Thank you, Sarah! I’m pretty glad it’s over, too!
We have a week off in the middle of February, so even if I’ll be busy for a couple of more weeks, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
I love the Red Rising series, too, so I had pre-ordered Iron Gold as soon as it was possible.

  27. I am glad your sinus infection is gone. Hopefully that blister on your hand won’t last long. Your new books all sound so good! Close to the Edge sounds especially good. I hope you you have a great week, Lexxie!

  28. Happy to hear that you no longer have the sinus infection, those are terrible. Blisters are right up there with paper cuts… ouch. You have a lot of wonderful books this week, I hope you enjoy them all. I’ve been seeing Iron Gold everywhere with positive reviews. Have a wonderful day Lexxie 🙂

  29. Great book haul! I’ve had my eye on the new Lisa Renee Jones’ series. You Pup photo made me laugh – what were they up to? It looks like they were having a very serious discussion regarding that pet carrier 🙂

  30. Yay for feeling better, Lexxie! And gah, I can only understand the pain teachers go through when grades need to be finalized–just last week, our head teacher had to send out a letter of apology to parents since they weren’t able to finish grading us on time. No harm done, though! Just take care of yourself. 😉

  31. You got some good looking books, wifey, both from publishers and as gifts. Someone must think you’re awfully special to send those gifts. 😉 😛 I’m glad you’re feeling better. James has another cold now and Sky thinks she’s getting sick, too. This cold/flu season has been rough! Anyway, I hope you enjoy all your new goodies! And have a great week!! {{{BIG HUGS}}} & lots of love <3

  32. That looks like a lot of good reading is going to be happening. I have read the Karina Halle one and I just bought Man Hands on audiobook. Glad to hear you liked it! Glad you are feeling better!

  33. Have you read her Love, in English or the sequel? This book is standalone but loosely attached to those as the male character’s sister is the heroine of those. I loved the book and gave it 4.5 stars. It totally made me want to go to New Zealand. My review is on GoodReads if you’re interested.
